Mine Uses 960SIP Console for Dispatch Operations

A Western Australian mining company recently selected our new 960SIP Console with several IPR100's to connect various radio channels over IP. This solution enables an operator to frequently access the radio network using a robust and easy to use console. The SIP capabilities built into the 960SIP Console allows dynamic connections to their above and below ground radios and supports the sites wide variety of channels. Radios across the mine connect to IPR100's which have the ability to receive SIP connections.

Connect a Remote MPT1327 Trunking System Over IP

Traditionally MPT1327 repeater sites were connected to a MPT1327 node controller using leased lines. Many Telco's are now moving away from this service, the major supplier in Australia announced earlier in the year that come late 2009 support for leased lines would be disconntinued. Many of our clients need an alternative solution and have chosen the Omnitronics IPR100's to add to their existing radio infrastructure. The IPR100's are connected to a central MPT1327 switching node, and audio and data paths are transparently connected via the RS-232 and 4W E&M ports of the IPR100.

How Do I...Set-up a 619EI Audio Bridge?

The Omnitronics 619EI is a highly popular6 port audio bridge designed to interconnect various radios at repeater sites. All it takes is 7 easy steps to set-up an Omnitronics 619EI Audio Bridge!

Step 1: Wire the plug cable to match the radio type to 4 wire E&M bridge port619EI
Step 2: Set the E&M links to match the radio type PTT and COR (mute) requirements
Step 3: Set the bridge DIP switches to make the link paths
Step 4: Install and power up
Step 5: Set receive audio levels to match each radio
Step 6: Set transmit deviation audio levels to match each radio
Step 7: Now you're ready to go! Set and forget, let the bridge provide reliable operations for years to come

The 619EI is easy to set-up saving you time and money in the process. Once installed, this solution has the ability to make your system standard at each repeater site so it's simple to control. The device was designed as an engineer friendly tool, all adjustments are done from the front of the rack meaning you don't have to scramble 'round the back' to make adjustments.

The inbuilt audio jack point allows you to accurately set up receive audio levels and the LED Audio Meter, PTT and COR provides a handy visual check.

What is...Remote Radio Channel Change?

Channel change enables operators to enter the desired channel number for the radio. In addition, the operator can control channel scanning and force the Mute into a specific state. The Omnitronics 960SIP Console and IPRdispatch both have channel change capabilities to allow users to remotely change radio channels over an IP network.

This works with a wide range of radios, in fact any radio which has an RS-232 serial interface can be connected into a remote IPR110 Plus device. This connection allows an operator of a 960SIP Console or IPRdispatch GUI to switch and control channels on the remote radio as demonstrated in the diagram below.
