Exciting New Product Release: IPR110 Plus - Advanced VoIP & SIP Gateway The team at Omnitronics is pleased to announce the release of the revolutionary new IPR110 Plus - Advanced VoIP & SIP Gateway. By combining VoIP with SIP technology, Omnitronics has created a highly innovative product, making radio communications more accessible and user friendly. This powerful VoIP Gateway builds on the features of the highly regarded IPR100 by providing remote RS-232 channel change and higher levels of security. However, the real power comes from the product's ability to manage connections with SIP phones and SIP compatible PBX systems.
This product is perfect for organisations that require occasional access to a radio network using SIP Phones such as mining companies, construction sites, refineries, hospitals and local councils. The IPR110 Plus is the beginning of an exciting new range of SIP products by Omnitronics, keep an eye out for more product releases over the coming months.
Variety BASH uses IPR100's for Connection to Remote Mobile Radios The Variety BASH has become a series of well known events across Australia raising more than $6million dollars each year for charity. Taking a large amount of people and their 30 year old cars into the remote areas of Australia requires Variety to provide a supporting safety & logistics communications network, and this has been provided over the years by state based groups of volunteers using mainly HF radio. Variety Victoria was continually on the lookout for ways to provide a reliable HF radio network infrastructure during each event in which the participants are constantly on the move andbecause each year the event is held in a different part of the state. As IP connectivity started to become a reality, a new world of communications unfolded. When the Omnitronics IPR100 appeared on the market, it was the solution Variety had been looking for. Variety Victoria had already purchased Omnitronics 960 Series consoles to provide multiple radio console connectivity in one of the mobile communications buses. Incorporating the IPR100 product into this facility was a simple step forward. Andrew Richards from Variety Victoria and Peter James from Lara Electronics worked together to implement this innovative solution. The one stumbling block was the ability to connect to the internet in a mobile environment in a cost effective way. Using the Telstra NextG™ network, ethernet connectivity for the IPR100 in the mobile communication bus was provided. During the 2007 event in Victoria, Variety BASH communications made extensive use of a fixed base station located in Frankston Victoria. Each time the mobile communications bus was setup, it was a simple case of turning on the router and connections were made to the HF network. As the HF propagation shifted during the day the communication operators in the bus were able to switch easily from a local HF radio, to the remote HF radio sometimes located up to 1,000kms away.
One of the most outstanding features of the IPR100 in this case was the serial communications. Setting this to transparent mode allowed the group to use the CICS features of their radios. The Variety communication bus is able to control the remote radio, change frequencies (channels), control the radios DSP facility and send and receive HF selcall and short messages. This means that the remote radio doesnot require any local attention. Omnitronics acknowledges the commitment and dedication by Andrew Richards and Peter James in helping develop, build and implement this innovative solution.

Customised 619SRI Audio Bridge Developed for Canadian Government Department
A Canadian government department approached Omnitronics to help them solve a unique interoperability issue that required multi-tone simultaneous decoding. To complicate matters, the application involved the use of low frequency paging tones. In this unique application, it was found that the paging frequencies used by the client adversely affected the detection of operational in-band keying tones. As an example of our company's preparedness to customise standard solutions, the Engineering team at Omnitronics developed special software algorithms to overcome the problems caused by the paging tones. The new firmware was emailed to the client who was able to Flash program the unit and perform real-world trials. The system was recently commissioned and is now fully operational. The users of this product are extremely appreciative of the effort put into developing a customised solution and the quick turn around time for such a project.
